Student Schengen Visa
This is a short-term type C visa designed for non-European Union students who wish to study in one of the Schengen countries. Students can pursue several short-term courses including various summer courses, language courses, and courses that are part of exchange programs.
How to Apply
The following are the steps to apply for the Schengen student visa
1. The first step is to ensure you are eligible to apply for the student visa.
2. Identify where in your home country you need to submit your application. This is usually the
embassy, the consulate, or a visa application center.
3. The next step is to make an appointment. It is best if you apply for your visa between 15
days to six months before your intended departure date.
4. Ensure you have all the required documents in hand. Some of these include
● Letter of acceptance from the University or College.
● No objection letter from the University or College.
● Proof of academic achievement.
● Proof of accommodation.
● Proof of sponsorship
5. On the day of your visa appointment, submit your application in person. The submission might
be followed by a short interview where you can discuss your study plans in the Schengen
Area.
6. The final step is the payment of the application fee. This non-fundable fee is €80, €40 if
you are a minor.

● The visa can take at least 15 business days to be processed and issued. You will receive a
notification of whether your visa has been issued. The visa will be affixed to your passport and
you are free to enter the Schengen Area.
● The visa issuing authority can issue a shorter-duration visa based on the duration of your
study program, your travel history, or how well the visa requirements are met.
● The Visas are either Single-entry visas, Double-entry visas, or multiple-entry visas.
● The visas are issued for up to 90 days only. If you want to pursue a longer course, you must
apply for a national student visa for the respective country.
